Herzliya, Israel, March 2010 – BIRD Aerosystems has been awarded a contract to supply its advanced Airborne Missile Protection System (AMPS) to protect UN helicopters operating in Iraq.
The Project will be a AMPS system will be installed on civil registered BK-117 helicopters that will be responsible for the transportation of UN personal in the country and will protect the helicopters from the threat of surface to air missiles including MANPADS and enhance the safety of the passengers, cargo and flying personnel.
According to the contract, BIRD will be responsible to deliver and install the AMPS system on the civil helicopters and for the certification of the installation to be done by the local Civil Aviation authority.

BIRD specializes in providing Airborne Missile Self Protection Systems (AMPS) that protects military, civil and VIP aircraft against Man-Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS) and Airborne Surveillance, Information and Observation (ASIO) systems for Maritime and ground surveillance missions.
