BIRD Aerosystems, the leading developer of Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS) and Airborne Surveillance, Information and Observation (ASIO) solutions, confirms that following the successful deployment of BIRD’s AMPS by the US Army, the company has received another follow-on order of additional AMPS from the US Government.
BIRD’s AMPS missile protection system provides the most enhanced protection for military and civilian aircraft against the growing threat of ground to air missiles (MANPADS). The system is designed to automatically detect, verify, and foil SAM attacks through the effective use of countermeasure decoys (Flares and Chaff) and by Directional Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) that jam the missile’s IR seeker and protects the aircraft.
AMPS is fully operational on military and VIP aircraft. Significantly, AMPS has also evolved into a standard system for NATO, having been selected and installed on Military, VIP and civil platforms used by NATO members, the United Nations air operations, governments and air forces around the world.
Ronen Factor, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Founder: “BIRD Aerosystems recently received another follow-on order of additional AMPS from the US Government, and we see this as another step towards becoming a central supplier of innovative airborne solutions for the US Army”. He continued: “Besides the US government, BIRD Aerosystems is looking to further extend our offering to the US market in the next years, and offer both the MACS sensor and the SPREOS DIRCM as part of the different ASE solutions”.
The NIMASA Deep Blue project has proved its efficiency as the International Bargaining Forum (IBF) has recently removed Nigeria from the list of countries designated as risk maritime nations

This program is part of a follow-up program with the Czech Air Force that has been protecting its helicopters with the AMPS system for the last 15 years and has deployed them in the most complex environments, such as Afghanistan.
