The ASIO solution will be installed on a range of platforms all sharing a unified overview and real-time situational awareness to deliver enhanced security
FAMEX 2017, Main Platform
[Herzliya, Israel – April 4, 2017]: BIRD Aerosystems, the leading developer of Special Mission Aircraft Solutions (ASIO) and Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS), will present a live demonstration at FAMEX 2017, Mexico’s Aerospace Exhibition, of its proven ASIO solution installed on Ground Surveillance Cessna Aircraft, Special Mission B407 Helicopter and Intervention Vehicles.
The live demonstration will present a fully operational scenario in which all the operating teams share a unified overview and real-time situational awareness, significantly enhancing security of borders, strategic sites and infrastructure.
BIRD’s ASIO solution can be installed on a wide range of aircraft and is a complete yet highly customizable airborne operational system that addresses diverse operational requirements. Integrated with BIRD’s unique Mission Management System and using the latest surveillance and monitoring sensors, the ASIO solution has become one of the most affordable, reliable and capable Special Mission Aircraft Solution available today.
In addition to the ASIO solution, the company will also present the latest developments to their Airborne Missile Protection System (AMPS). BIRD’s combat-proven AMPS provides complete protection for hundreds of military and civilian aircraft against the growing threat of all known Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAM), including MANPADS (Man Portable Shoulder Launched Missile). BIRD’s AMPS is based on a patented concept implemented into the Missile Approach Confirmation Sensor (MACS). MACS performs confirmation of suspected incoming missile threats and ensures a near zero False Alarm Rate with maximum aircraft protection.
Both BIRD’s AMPS and ASIO solutions are in operational use worldwide by high profile customers including NATO forces, UN air operations and the US Government among others.
Ronen Factor, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Founder: “By providing all team members with a unified situational awareness, BIRD’s new ASIO solution ensures that the entire team, from field-commanders to decision makers, has an accurate and comprehensive situational overview as well as all the real-time information they need in order to make decisions. We are thrilled to provide visitors at FAMEX 2017 with a live demonstration of the ASIO solution, and I am confident that the demonstration of an operational scenario will convince visitors of the unique benefits that BIRD’s ASIO solution can deliver.”
The NIMASA Deep Blue project has proved its efficiency as the International Bargaining Forum (IBF) has recently removed Nigeria from the list of countries designated as risk maritime nations
Following the delivery of its ASIO Maritime Task Force Solution to Nigeria, as part of the NIMASA Deep Blue Project, BIRD Aerosystems has completed a successful live demonstration of the ASIO aircraft capabilities, including real-time interception of vessels performing illegal activities at sea.

Israeli company BIRD Aerosystems, has completed the deliveries of additional AMPS systems, including the MACS – a Missile Approach Confirmation Sensor, and a provision of SPREOS – the Self Protection Radar Electro-Optic System DIRCM, for the Czech Air Force Mil Mi-17 military helicopters. The MACS is a semi-active confirmation radar that reduces the false alarm rate of the overall missile warning system. This program is part of a follow-up program with the Czech Air Force that has been protecting its helicopters with the AMPS system for the last 15 years and has deployed them in the most complex environments, such as Afghanistan.
